The second session of the Primavera Workshop, held earlier this week, met with enthusiasm and engagement as participants continued their journey into the world of project planning and scheduling. The session was led by Engr. Ronald de Gracia, who skillfully guided attendees through the foundational skills necessary to effectively use the Primavera software.
In a manner described by many as “clear and practical,” Engr. de Gracia emphasized that mastering Primavera requires more than just technical know-how—it begins with a solid grasp of the core principles of project planning. He broke down complex concepts into digestible parts, ensuring that even participants with minimal experience could follow and comprehend the topics being discussed. “The tool is powerful, but it’s only as effective as the planner behind it,” Engr. de Gracia explained, highlighting the importance of understanding the logic, relationships, and structures that govern scheduling in real-world scenarios. His approach resonated with the audience, many of whom expressed appreciation for the simplicity and clarity of his teaching style.
During the session, participants were introduced to key concepts such as activity sequencing, relationship types, and the role of dependencies in developing a coherent and functional project schedule. Real-life applications were emphasized, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and on-site execution. As the session progressed, attendees were eager to dive into their first hands-on exercise—an introductory scheduling activity designed to reinforce the day’s lessons. This exercise served as a precursor to a more in-depth discussion and analysis planned for the next session, where participants will review their work and gain deeper insights. Excitement continues to build among the attendees, many of whom are looking forward to applying these new skills in their professional environments.
The workshop has not only sparked interest in the Primavera tool itself but also ignited a broader appreciation for the art and science of project planning. The Primavera Workshop series continues to be a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, skill development, and professional growth, with more dynamic sessions yet to come.
