The chapter actively collaborates with other IECEP chapters and organizations to foster knowledge exchange and industry advancements. It has initiated projects for a cause, promoted the Electronics Engineering (ECE) course, and developed a dedicated website to enhance accessibility to resources. With strong support for the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE), the chapter plays a vital role in empowering aspiring engineers. It also ensures the active engagement of its members through general assemblies, community service initiatives, and outreach programs. Data Center Facility and Management

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) successfully conducted a seminar on Data Center Facility and Management on August 29, 2025, with Engr. Jimmel Magtubo Sr. as the resource speaker.
The seminar aimed to enhance participants’ technical knowledge and professional competence in managing data center facilities. Engr. Magtubo shared comprehensive insights on data center design, operational best practices, energy efficiency, and risk management. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, with participants attending both onsite and online.
Active engagement from participants through discussions and knowledge-sharing contributed significantly to the seminar’s success. The initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional growth.

IECEP KSA-ERC successfully conducted a webinar on “Cybersecurity: Governance, Risk, and Compliance” last August 15, 2025. The session emphasized the importance of protecting digital assets, managing risks, and ensuring compliance in today’s dynamic cyber environment.
Our resource speaker, Engr. Dorwin Caballero, provided valuable insights on best practices and practical approaches to cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks. The event was made more meaningful through the active participation and engagement of attendees.

IECEP KSA-ERC Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IECEP KSA-ERC) successfully marked another milestone through its 2025 Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary. Held in a hybrid format, the event welcomed participants from across the globe, reaffirming the chapter’s commitment to professional growth, global unity, and community engagement.
Themed around progress and empowerment, the celebration opened with an inspiring address by Chapter Governor Engr. Johnel A. Corpuz. This was followed by an impactful keynote message from Engr. Deovanni Miranda, current General Manager of the Philippine National Railways and a former IECEP KSA-ERC member.
Significant updates on the Electronics Engineering Law (RA 9292) and PECE licensure initiatives were presented by Hon. Engr. Vicente Cejoco, Hon. Engr. Gerhard Tan, and Hon. Engr. Adonis Talabo, representing the Board of Electronics Engineering (BECE). In a recorded message, IECEP National President Engr. Lory Liza Bulay-og acknowledged the chapter’s leadership and honored its pioneering members. Hon. Labor Attaché Solaiman C. Mutia also graced the event, introducing DOLE-MWO programs and advocating for OFW welfare and participation.
The program featured the recognition of former chapter governors, who shared words of encouragement and support, highlighting the legacy and continuity of the organization. A technical seminar on “Virtualization for Industrial Solutions” led by Engr. Arlie Villanueva.
Acknowledgments were given to recent ECE board examinees and ECT passer Jolan Ricablanca. The chapter also celebrated the success of its 1st Internal Basketball Tournament.
Overall, the 2025 Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary highlighted IECEP KSA-ERC’s unwavering dedication to excellence, unity, and service.

127th Philippine Independence Day – Kalayaan 2025 Celebration
June 20, 2025
The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IECEP KSA-ERC), proudly participated in the 127th Philippine Independence Day Kalayaan Celebration held on May 23, to June 20, 2025.
As an active member of the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO), IECEP KSA-ERC played a vital role in organizing and supporting the event. The chapter reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Filipino culture, values, and unity among overseas professionals.
IECEP KSA-ERC’s Board of Trustees, former governors, and members joined the celebration, proudly representing the organization and demonstrating solidarity and patriotism.
One of the celebration’s highlights was the “Laro ng Lahi” — traditional Filipino games that foster camaraderie and cultural pride. IECEP KSA-ERC led the Luksong Sako (Sack Race) event.
The culminating event gathered over 60 Filipino organizations in a grand cultural showcase.
Through its proactive involvement, IECEP KSA-ERC contributed significantly to the success of Kalayaan 2025, strengthening Filipino pride and unity within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) proudly supported the 2025 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE), held from June 6 to 8, 2025. Demonstrating its commitment to professional excellence, the organization was actively involved throughout the three-day event.
A total of 141 examinees participated in the board examination, including eight from IECEP KSA-ERC.
Six dedicated IECEP KSA-ERC members volunteered as part of the SPLE steering committee. Their commitment, even during the holiday break, ensured the smooth conduct of the exams. They were joined and supported by former Governors.
IECEP KSA-ERC remains committed to its mission of empowering Filipino professionals abroad through service, advocacy, and professional development.

BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

The IECEP KSA - Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) proudly took part in a community blood donation drive organized by the Lions International Club in collaboration with local partners. This initiative supports the urgent need for blood in medical emergencies and helps save lives.
Our participation reflects IECEP KSA-ERC’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service, extending support to all communities in Saudi Arabia, regardless of nationality.
We extend special thanks to members Joseph Cardona, Joseph Sonsona, and Jhun Can for their generous donations, and to our Board of Trustees for their continued moral support and leadership.

IECEP KSA-ERC INTERNAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
May 9, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30, 2025
The inaugural season of the IECEP KSA-ERC Internal Basketball Tournament concluded with resounding success, culminating in the Yellow Team’s triumph as the first-ever champions.
In a thrilling and highly anticipated championship match, the Yellow Team delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Blue Team with a decisive 71–56 victory to claim the championship title. As a result, the Blue Team secured the First Runner-Up position.
Despite showing promise throughout the tournament, the Red Team managed only a single win—earned by default against the Green Team—which placed them as the Second Runner-Up. The Green Team, having defaulted their match, concluded the competition in the Third Runner-Up position.
The success of Season 1 is a testament to the commitment and leadership of the IECEP KSA-ERC Board of Trustee. The tournament fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unity among Electronics practitioners in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia.
Congratulations to the Yellow Team and all participants for making this season a milestone event.

SMART INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM

IECEP KSA-ERC and IECEP Ilocos launched a successful partnership to support Electronics Engineering students at Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU). The initiative aims to enhance academic and professional growth through industry-aligned learning. Led by Engrs. Johnel Corpuz, Antonio Delos Santos, and guided by Engr. Wilson Duldulao, the kickoff event featured students and professionals exploring SMART Instrumentation Systems. A keynote by Engr. Arlie Villanueva provided real-world insights from his work in the Philippines and Saudi Aramco. Recognizing the topic's depth, the IECEP chapters committed to hosting a series of seminars and webinars, aiming to equip MMSU students and professionals with the advanced skills and knowledge needed in the evolving field of electronics and instrumentation engineering.

Another insightful webinar has successfully concluded, with IECEP KSA Eastern Region Chapter spearheading a session on the Introduction and Overview of Advanced-Level Engineering.
Our distinguished resource speaker and a seasoned professional, Engr. Jeffrey Conciso (PECE, APEC/ASEAN Eng., ACPE, DTM, P.Eng-Nevada), shared valuable insights on the application process and requirements for becoming an ASEAN Engineer, APEC Engineer, and ACPE.
The session drew participation from engineers across the Middle East, the Philippines, and various IECEP chapters around the world.

The launch marks a significant milestone for the organization as it continues to enhance connectivity, accessibility, and professional support for its members and fellow electronics practitioners in the region. The website serves as a centralized digital platform where members can access vital information such as announcements, upcoming events, professional development resources, membership updates, and technical articles relevant to the field of electronics engineering. It also offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface designed to support both seasoned professionals and new members alike, reinforcing IECEP KSA ERC’s commitment to knowledge sharing and growth within the profession. Beyond the digital celebration, the event was made even more memorable through a members’ fellowship held at the beach, fostering bonding and camaraderie among attendees. The relaxed coastal setting provided a perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations, and shared laughter. This gathering not only strengthened personal connections but also reaffirmed the unity and spirit of the IECEP KSA ERC family. The success of both the website launch and the fellowship activity reflects the chapter’s continuous efforts in uplifting the welfare of its members—both technically and socially. ETEEAP ORIENTATION
March 19, 2025
The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (IIEE ERCSA), in collaboration with the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – KSA Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA ERC), successfully conducted a face-to-face orientation on the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) for aspiring candidates. The event was held at the IIEE ERCSA headquarters in Al Khobar and was presented by Engr. Melvin Landicho (former IECEP KSA ERC Governor in 2020).
The session provided an overview of the ETEEAP, including its objectives, qualifications, and application process.
We look forward to seeing our aspirants achieve their bachelor's degrees through the ETEEAP program.

The IECEP KSA Eastern Region Chapter, in collaboration with Karce Calculators Philippines, successfully conducted a webinar on Calculator Techniques to help aspiring engineers prepare for their licensure examinations.
The session was packed with valuable tips and strategies to help examinees optimize their limited time during the exam. However, it was emphasized that understanding the underlying concepts behind these techniques is essential for effective problem-solving.
Overall, it was a highly successful event, and we look forward to future collaborations with KARCE Calculator Philippines!

We were honored to have Hon. Adonis Q. Talabo, PECE, ACPE, AE, a distinguished member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering, as one of our esteemed guests. Joining us via Zoom from the Philippines, he delivered an inspiring message filled with motivation and encouragement for our chapter’s new officers.

ECEP-KSA-ERC recently conducted a seminar and workshop on January 24, 2025, titled “Advanced Fiber Optics Workshop: Mastering OTDR, Power Meter, Laser Fault Finder, and Fusion Splicing Techniques,” with our 2016 former governor, Engr. Jose “Joey” Espinosa Jr., as the resource speaker.
The workshop aimed to refresh participants' knowledge of fiber optics and enhance their techniques in using devices related to fiber optic splicing.
