PECE Aspirants Went Through ERC Rigorous Evaluations and Mock Interviews

The IECEP KSA-ERC successfully carried out a series of rigorous evaluations and mock interviews on November 28, 2025, at its headquarters in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, as part of its mission to support Electronics Engineers in advancing to the Professional Electronics Engineer (PECE) level.Earlier in April 2025, Engr. Cleo Fabula and Engr. Neil John Gayoba completed their initial interview assessments, paving the way for further aspirants. Following their lead, Engr. Pastorito Eledia Jr., Engr. Arlie Villanueva, and Engr. Richard Sadinas underwent comprehensive mock evaluations designed to refine their articulation, strengthen the clarity of their professional experiences, and prepare them for final submissions and the forthcoming BECE oral examination. Each candidate demonstrated commendable professionalism, showcasing their individual strengths, competencies, and contributions to the field of electronics engineering.
The Engineering Registers Committee, represented by Engr. Russel Torres, Engr. Joey Espinosa, Engr. Melvin Landicho, Engr. Mohammad Ali Mauna, and Engr. Johnel Corpuz, conducted meticulous reviews of qualifications and provided valuable guidance to ensure the aspirants’ readiness. The successful completion of these sessions marks a significant milestone in the journey toward PECE accreditation and reflects IECEP KSA-ERC’s dedication to uplifting its members, enhancing professional standards, and paving the way toward the long-awaited PECE oath-taking ceremony.

On November 21, 2025, the IECEP KSA–Eastern Region Chapter successfully conducted a technical webinar on the Radio Access Network (RAN) Foundation and AI-Driven RAN at its headquarters in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Organized in collaboration with Terra Hertz, the event featured Engr. Richard Matias, one of the chapter’s most esteemed technical speakers, who delivered a clear and comprehensive discussion on the fundamentals of RAN systems and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in modern telecommunications.

Empowering OFWs Through Education: IECEP-KSA-ERC’s ETEEAP Scholarship Initiative Gains Momentum

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP-KSA-ERC) has made significant progress in advancing its proposal for the Expanded Tertiary Education
Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Scholarship for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through two landmark meetings at the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
On October 9, 2025, IECEP-KSA-ERC leaders Governor Engr. Johnel A. Corpuz, Adviser Engr. Jose Espinosa Jr., and ETEEAP Director Engr. Melvin Landicho presented the initiative to Labor Attaché Solaiman C. Mutia. The discussion highlighted the scholarship’s transformative potential in converting OFWs’ professional experience into academic credits, while ensuring accessibility through coverage of tuition, materials, and assessment fees. Labor Attaché Mutia expressed strong support, commending the proactive approach and affirming the program’s alignment with government goals for inclusive education and reintegration.
Building on this momentum, the delegation met again on November 2, 2025, with Welfare Officer Ms. Laureen Musa to refine the proposal’s requirements and strengthen its feasibility. The dialogue focused on beneficiary interest, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes, with both parties expressing optimism that the program would soon be realized. IECEP-KSA-ERC reaffirmed its readiness to assist in rollout and monitoring, underscoring its commitment to long-term socioeconomic upliftment by bridging OFWs’ hard-earned skills with formal academic recognition.
The meetings concluded with mutual agreement to explore implementation pathways with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), marking a milestone in IECEP-KSA-ERC’s mission to empower OFWs, enhance their credentials, and contribute to national development through improved opportunities and sustained economic growth

IECEP KSA-ERC Holds Successful “Music Jam for a Cause” to Support IECEP KSA-ERC ETEEAP Scholars
October 3, 2025
The IECEP KSA-ERC Music Jam for a Cause, held on October 3, 2025 at Drag Café and Restaurant in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, was a resounding success and marked another milestone for the chapter.
Organized to raise funds for the ETEEAP Scholarship Program, the event drew overwhelming support from partner organizations, the PPO Council, and numerous Filipino community groups.
IECEP KSA-ERC Governor Engr. Johnel A. Corpuz emphasized the vision of expanding the scholarship’s reach to the broader OFW community, while ETEEAP Director Engr. Melvin Landicho provided details on qualifications, partner universities, and degree offerings. Inspiring testimonies from current ETEEAP scholars highlighted the program’s life-changing impact.
The evening was brought to life by outstanding performances from the PH7 Band and the IECEP Jammers, showcasing both professional talent and camaraderie among members. The generosity of Drag Café, led by Ma’am Cherry and her team, added warmth and hospitality to the occasion.
Overall, the Music Jam for a Cause not only achieved its fundraising objectives but also strengthened IECEP KSA-ERC’s mission of empowering Filipino professionals through education, unity, and community collaboration.

IECEP KSA-ERC Launches ETEEAP Scholarship Program for Members

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) proudly reports the successful launch of its first-ever ETEEAP Scholarship Program, a landmark initiative approved through Board Resolution No. 2025-002.
This program, formally endorsed by the 2025 Board of Trustees, represents a major accomplishment in advancing the chapter’s mission to empower overseas Filipino electronics practitioners.
Through this scholarship, qualified members are now given the opportunity to transform their professional experience into formal academic credentials, enabling them to pursue Electronics Engineering degrees while continuing their employment abroad.
The program is strategically designed to uplift financially constrained members, with clear objectives to encourage at least 20% of affiliates to pursue degrees, increase chapter membership by 25% within three years, and align with IECEP’s national mandate for continuing education. With well-defined qualification requirements and a sustainability strategy supported by chapter-led fundraising, private partnerships, and potential government subsidies, the initiative ensures long-term impact.
This milestone reflects IECEP KSA-ERC’s commitment to professional development, national reintegration, and lifelong learning, marking a significant achievement in the chapter’s history and a testament to its dedication to the Filipino engineering community abroad.

IECEP KSA-ERC Participation in PPO-SA Sports Festival 2025
September to November, 2025
​IECEP KSA-ERC actively participated in the Philippine Professional Organization–Saudi Arabia (PPO-SA) Sports Festival 2025, held from September to November, with the Board of Trustees, former officials, and members proudly representing the chapter. Their involvement highlighted unity, talent, and sportsmanship throughout the event.
The chapter achieved an impressive Third Runner-Up Overall standing, demonstrating resilience and competitiveness across multiple sports. Notable victories included a championship in Lawn Tennis, a First Place finish in Darts, and a First Runner-Up position in Billiards. Commendable performances also secured Third Runner-Up standings in Table Tennis, Badminton, and Scrabble, while Bowling, Chess, and Basketball showcased strong competitiveness, with basketball in particular reflecting unity and passion despite challenging matches.
Beyond medals and rankings, IECEP KSA-ERC embodied the true spirit of the PPO-SA Sports Festival—unity, camaraderie, and healthy competition. The athletes and organizers proved that resilience, teamwork, and passion can elevate the collective mission of Filipino professionals in Saudi Arabia. Adding to its contributions, the chapter successfully hosted the Chess event, providing an exceptional venue for participants.

IECEP KSA-ERC Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IECEP KSA-ERC) successfully marked another milestone through its 2025 Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary. Held in a hybrid format, the event welcomed participants from across the globe, reaffirming the chapter’s commitment to professional growth, global unity, and community engagement.
Themed around progress and empowerment, the celebration opened with an inspiring address by Chapter Governor Engr. Johnel A. Corpuz. This was followed by an impactful keynote message from Engr. Deovanni Miranda, current General Manager of the Philippine National Railways and a former IECEP KSA-ERC member.
Significant updates on the Electronics Engineering Law (RA 9292) and PECE licensure initiatives were presented by Hon. Engr. Vicente Cejoco, Hon. Engr. Gerhard Tan, and Hon. Engr. Adonis Talabo, representing the Board of Electronics Engineering (BECE). In a recorded message, IECEP National President Engr. Lory Liza Bulay-og acknowledged the chapter’s leadership and honored its pioneering members. Hon. Labor Attaché Solaiman C. Mutia also graced the event, introducing DOLE-MWO programs and advocating for OFW welfare and participation.
The program featured the recognition of former chapter governors, who shared words of encouragement and support, highlighting the legacy and continuity of the organization. A technical seminar on “Virtualization for Industrial Solutions” led by Engr. Arlie Villanueva.
Acknowledgments were given to recent ECE board examinees and ECT passer Jolan Ricablanca. The chapter also celebrated the success of its 1st Internal Basketball Tournament.
Overall, the 2025 Mid-Year Convention and 18th Foundation Anniversary highlighted IECEP KSA-ERC’s unwavering dedication to excellence, unity, and service.

127th Philippine Independence Day – Kalayaan 2025 Celebration

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IECEP KSA-ERC), proudly participated in the 127th Philippine Independence Day Kalayaan Celebration held on May 23, to June 20, 2025.
As an active member of the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO), IECEP KSA-ERC played a vital role in organizing and supporting the event. The chapter reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Filipino culture, values, and unity among overseas professionals.
IECEP KSA-ERC’s Board of Trustees, former governors, and members joined the celebration, proudly representing the organization and demonstrating solidarity and patriotism.
One of the celebration’s highlights was the “Laro ng Lahi” — traditional Filipino games that foster camaraderie and cultural pride. IECEP KSA-ERC led the Luksong Sako (Sack Race) event.
The culminating event gathered over 60 Filipino organizations in a grand cultural showcase.
Through its proactive involvement, IECEP KSA-ERC contributed significantly to the success of Kalayaan 2025, strengthening Filipino pride and unity within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) proudly supported the 2025 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE), held from June 6 to 8, 2025. Demonstrating its commitment to professional excellence, the organization was actively involved throughout the three-day event.
A total of 141 examinees participated in the board examination, including eight from IECEP KSA-ERC.
Six dedicated IECEP KSA-ERC members volunteered as part of the SPLE steering committee. Their commitment, even during the holiday break, ensured the smooth conduct of the exams. They were joined and supported by former Governors.
IECEP KSA-ERC remains committed to its mission of empowering Filipino professionals abroad through service, advocacy, and professional development.

The IECEP KSA - Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) proudly took part in a community blood donation drive organized by the Lions International Club in collaboration with local partners. This initiative supports the urgent need for blood in medical emergencies and helps save lives.
Our participation reflects IECEP KSA-ERC’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service, extending support to all communities in Saudi Arabia, regardless of nationality.

IECEP KSA-ERC INTERNAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
May 9, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30, 2025
The inaugural season of the IECEP KSA-ERC Internal Basketball Tournament concluded with resounding success, culminating in the Yellow Team’s triumph as the first-ever champions.
In a thrilling and highly anticipated championship match, the Yellow Team delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Blue Team with a decisive 71–56 victory to claim the championship title. As a result, the Blue Team secured the First Runner-Up position.
Despite showing promise throughout the tournament, the Red Team managed only a single win—earned by default against the Green Team—which placed them as the Second Runner-Up. The Green Team, having defaulted their match, concluded the competition in the Third Runner-Up position.
​The success of Season 1 is a testament to the commitment and leadership of the IECEP KSA-ERC Board of Trustee. The tournament fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unity among Electronics practitioners in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia.

The Primavera Workshop, held on May 2, 9, 16, 23 and June 8, 2025, concluded with resounding success, marking a significant accomplishment for IECEP KSA-ERC. Across five intensive sessions, participants gained essential skills in planning and managing schedules using Primavera P6, guided by distinguished mentor Engr. Ronald De Gracia, who enriched the training with real-world applications and best practices.
The workshop not only strengthened technical competence but also empowered attendees with practical strategies for day-to-day project execution. Fourteen participants successfully completed the program including Engr. Johnel Corpuz the Chapter Governor. The event transformed initial curiosity into confidence, reinforcing IECEP KSA-ERC’s mission of advancing professional excellence, fostering community, and supporting lifelong learning. This achievement stands as a testament to the chapter’s commitment to equipping its members with industry-relevant expertise and celebrating their growth.

On April 25, 2025, the IECEP KSA Eastern Region Chapter (ERC) successfully conducted a comprehensive Pre-Board Examination for aspiring Electronics Engineers (ECEs) and Electronics Technicians (ECTs) at its headquarters in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This initiative marked a significant milestone in the chapter’s continuing efforts to
prepare its members for the upcoming Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE), scheduled for June 6–8, 2025. The examination was professionally supervised by Engr. Kelvin Cano, a distinguished SPLE passer from 2024, who generously shared his insights and experiences to guide the examinees toward success. His involvement not only provided technical direction but also inspired confidence among participants. The strong turnout and active engagement of candidates underscored the commitment of IECEP KSA-ERC to fostering professional growth and licensure readiness. The website serves as a centralized digital platform where members can access vital information such as announcements, upcoming events, professional development resources, membership updates, and technical articles relevant to the field of electronics engineering.
It also offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface designed to support both seasoned professionals and new members alike, reinforcing IECEP KSA ERC’s commitment to knowledge sharing and growth within the profession. Beyond the digital celebration, the event was made even more memorable through a members’ fellowship held at the beach, fostering bonding and camaraderie among attendees. The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (IIEE ERCSA), in collaboration with the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – KSA Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA ERC), successfully conducted a face-to-face orientation on the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) for aspiring candidates. The event was held at the IIEE ERCSA headquarters in Al Khobar and was presented by Engr. Melvin Landicho (former IECEP KSA ERC Governor in 2020).
The session provided an overview of the ETEEAP, including its objectives, qualifications, and application process.

The session was packed with valuable tips and strategies to help examinees optimize their limited time during the exam. However, it was emphasized that understanding the underlying concepts behind these techniques is essential for effective problem-solving.
