Uniting Through Sports: IECEP KSA ERC Internal Sportsfest 2026
July 29 to August 29, 2026, | Al-Khobar, KSA
The IECEP KSA‑ERC Internal Sportsfest 2026 concluded as a vibrant and unifying celebration of athletic excellence, camaraderie, and brotherhood among members.

Beginning on July 31 at the IECEP KSA‑ERC Headquarters in Thoqba, Al‑Khobar, and culminating with the basketball championship on August 29, the month‑long event showcased the chapter’s commitment to sportsmanship and community.

Under the leadership of Governor Teofilo Bitoon, Sports Committee Chairman Michael Florin and guidance of VG for Internal Kelvin Cano and VG External Jonas Calayag, members participated in a diverse lineup of competitions—from indoor games and racket sports to precision events and a full basketball tournament—each producing memorable stories and outstanding performances.
The opening day featured indoor events that tested strategy and mental agility. In the darts competition, Jeffrey A. Conciso delivered a masterful performance, securing the gold medal with calm, precise throws that electrified the game. His victory set the tone for the day, with silver medalist Devon Geronimo and bronze medalist Joe Cardona applauding the spirit of friendly rivalry.

The chess event followed with a quiet but intense showdown between Mohammad Ali Mauna and Adnan C. Supnet. Their match, marked by thoughtful moves and deep concentration, ended with Mohammad’s decisive checkmate, earning him the gold.

Scrabble lit up the room with amusement and quick thinking flair as Jeffrey Conciso once again seized the gold, masterfully capitalizing on the ticking clock and emptying his rack just moments before time expired. His sharp timing proved decisive, leaving silver medalist Kelvin Cano with a point deduction that had him shaking his head in amused disbelief. Meanwhile, bronze medalist Johnel Corpuz joined in the lively, good natured celebration, adding to the cheerful energy that defined the match.

Racket and table sports continued the momentum in mid‑August. At Al Gosaibi Sports Center, the table tennis competition saw fast‑paced rallies between champion Michael Peralta and runner‑up Frederick Cayanong. Their intense exchanges kept spectators on edge, especially when Michael dove for a kill that sealed his victory.
Precision sports added another layer of excitement. In billiards, Ronald Salcedo emerged as champion after a series of calculated shots, followed by Dennis Julius Absin and Frederick Cayanong.

The bowling event on August 21 was equally thrilling, with Lino Oliveros delivering strike after strike to claim the gold medal, while Teofilo Bitoon Jr. and Mohammad Ali Mauna completed the podium.

The badminton men’s doubles event at Raed Badminton Court showcased teamwork and agility, with champions Francis Lubuguin and Kelvin Cano moving in perfect sync to secure the gold.

Lawn tennis at Al Thoqbah Sports Club highlighted power and finesse as champions Charles Jimenez and Ramel Macaraeg dominated the court with strong serves and coordinated play, earning enthusiastic cheers from fellow members.

The basketball tournament, held at Rakah Islamic Center from August 8 to 29, served as the grand finale of the Sportsfest.

Four teams—Green Archers, Blue Eagles, Yellow Tigers, and Red Warriors—competed in a spirited series of games that drew exciting spectators and intense support.
The Green Archers ultimately claimed the championship, followed by the Blue Eagles, Yellow Tigers, and Red Warriors. The Green Archers displayed exceptional composure and precision as they powered toward victory, anchored by the leadership of the MVP and the clutch three point shooting of Tavares. Their coordinated teamwork and timely execution ultimately shut down the Blue Team’s late game comeback attempt, securing a decisive and well earned win.

Ralph Alden Abucejo of the Green Archers captured the Most Valuable Player award after delivering a commanding, high energy performance that set the tone for his team throughout the game. Abucejo repeatedly attacked the rim with force and precision, breaking down the defense possession after possession. His relentless drives pressured defenders into making hurried, often costly decisions, resulting in multiple fouls that sent him to the free throw line—where he consistently converted opportunities into points. He was joined in the Mythical Five by teammates Carl Palapal, Blue Eagles standouts John Carlo Gaboy and Vince Maribao, and Yellow Tigers’ Jerry Bince.

The tournament opened with a solemn Oath of Sportsmanship, reminding players to compete with respect, integrity, and fairness—values that were evident throughout the competition.
Overall, the IECEP KSA‑ERC Internal Sportsfest 2026 was more than a series of athletic events; it was a celebration of unity, brotherhood, and the enduring spirit of IECEP. Across darts, chess, Scrabble, racket sports, precision games, and basketball, members demonstrated excellence, respect, and genuine camaraderie. The stories behind each victory—moments of tension, laughter, teamwork, and triumph—will remain cherished memories, reinforcing the chapter’s motto: "One Team, One IECEP, One Spirit."
