IECEP KSA–Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA ERC) earned a significant milestone as the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) formally recognized the chapter as the initiator and promoter of the OWWA's ETEEAP Scholarship under the LEAP OFWs Program.

The chapter was represented by current Governor Teofilo Bitoon, ETEEAP Chairman Melvin Landicho, Immediate Former Governor Johnel Corpuz, and Adviser Jose Espinosa Jr., underscoring IECEP KSA ERC’s active leadership in advancing professional development opportunities for Filipino engineers in Saudi Arabia.

Also, present were aspiring ETEEAP members Gresalde A. Geronimo, Iszam A. Said, and Jumail N. Jujani, demonstrating the chapter’s growing participation in the program.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of five overseas Filipino workers in Al Khobar who became the first qualified beneficiaries of OWWA’s Step UP ETEEAP Scholarship.

Among the beneficiaries, two will receive Notices of Eligibility, while three will be granted Notices of Award and Guarantee, providing educational assistance of up to ₱50,000. This initiative aims to help migrant workers earn college degrees by recognizing their prior work experience and technical skills — a transformative opportunity for professional advancement.

The recognition from OWWA marks a major achievement for IECEP KSA ERC, affirming its commitment to empowering Filipino engineers and supporting OFWs in their pursuit of higher education and career growth.

Interested members may begin their ETEEAP journey through the support of the IECEP KSA ERC ETEEAP Scholarship Program, or they may directly proceed with the application process via the ETEEAP OFW Portal.
