IECEP KSA-ERC Participated in the 127th Philippine Independence Day Kalayaan Parade and Kick-Off Celebration

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Eastern Region Chapter, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IECEP KSA-ERC), proudly took part in the 127th Philippine Independence Day Kalayaan Parade and Kick-Off Celebration, demonstrating its unwavering patriotism and commitment to national heritage.

As a proactive member of the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO), IECEP KSA-ERC participated and supported this momentous event. Through its active involvement, the chapter reaffirmed its dedication to promoting Filipino culture, values, and unity among overseas Filipino professionals.

The event commenced with a vibrant Kalayaan Parade, featuring the enthusiastic participation of IECEP KSA-ERC’s Board of Trustees, former governors, and chapter members. Their presence served as a symbol of solidarity and pride in commemorating the Philippines’ historic journey toward independence.

Adding to the cultural significance of the celebration, participants engaged in a traditional Philippine Dance Parade—uniquely adapted as a "Dancing in Place" activity. This innovation allowed for the joyful expression of Filipino dance traditions while respecting local guidelines and ensuring participants’ comfort.

The kick-off event also showcased a vibrant display of various cultural representations of the country, offering a nostalgic and educational glimpse into its rich heritage. Among the highlights were historical artifacts such as old Philippine currencies, which reflected the evolution of the nation's economy and identity. Traditional items like the beloved board game "sungka" and the iconic wooden clogs known as "bakya" were also featured, celebrating the everyday customs and timeless traditions that continue to shape the Filipino way of life.

The 127th Kalayaan Celebration is a month-long commemoration that will continue until June 20, 2025. IECEP KSA-ERC remains steadfast in its intention to actively engage in upcoming activities and programs, contributing meaningfully to the celebration’s success and further strengthening the spirit of Filipino nationalism within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
