IECEP KSA-ERC Launches ETEEAP Scholarship Program for Overseas Electronics Practitioners Empowering Filipino Engineers in KSA – Eastern Region

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) has officially approved the creation of its first-ever ETEEAP Scholarship Program, a transformative initiative designed to support financially constrained Filipino electronics practitioners working abroad.
This milestone was formalized through Chapter Board Resolution No. 2025-002, signed and certified by the 2025 Board of Trustees, including Chapter Governor Johnel A. Corpuz, Vice Governor for Education Jeffrey C. Mangoba, Secretary Kelvin F. Cano, and ETEEAP Director Melvin D. Landicho.

Program Overview
The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is a government-recognized pathway that allows qualified individuals to earn college degrees based on their work experience, skills, and prior learning. IECEP KSA-ERC’s EETEAP scholarship program will enable members to pursue Electronics Engineering degrees while continuing their overseas employment.
Objectives and Impact
Empower OFWs with unfinished tertiary education to earn formal academic credentials
Encourage 20% of affiliate members to pursue Electronics Engineering degrees
Increase chapter membership by 25% within three years
Align with IECEP’s national mandate for continuing education and professional development
Target Beneficiaries
Active IECEP KSA-ERC members for at least 3 consecutive years
Electronics Practitioners currently employed abroad, preferably in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region
Individuals earning below the Philippine cost-of-living threshold (PHP 31,770/month for singles; PHP 109,770/month for families)
Non-degree holders with at least 5 years of electronics-related work experience
Qualification Requirements
Applicants must submit:
Proof of IECEP KSA-ERC membership and participation
Employment records and income documentation
Letters of recommendation and statement of intent
Valid passport, visa, and supporting credentials
Sustainability Strategy
The program will be funded through:
Chapter-led fundraising initiatives
Private sector and NGO partnerships
Potential government subsidies via OWWA
Post-graduation mentorship and integration with IECEP’s professional development programs
