IECEP KSA–Eastern Region Chapter Holds Membership Orientation for 2026 Batch

The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eastern Region Chapter (IECEP KSA-ERC) successfully conducted its 2026 Membership Orientation at the chapter headquarters in Al Khobar, gathering aspiring and returning electronics professionals for an afternoon of learning, and engagement.

The program officially started at 1:30 PM, hosted by Engr. Kelvin Cano, VG for Internal, who also led the opening prayer together with Mr. Tito Oberio, ECT, Chairman of Ways and Means.

IECEP KSA ERC Governor Engr. Teofilo Bitoon Jr. delivered the welcome address, followed by an introduction of the keynote speaker by Mr. Troi.

The session’s main speaker, Engr. Ding R. Costales, Treasurer, provided an in-depth overview of the organization, including its history, mission, vision, membership categories, and the process of becoming a member.

The orientation highlighted the chapter’s mission to “empower electronics practitioners by providing a supportive platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and career advancement” and its vision of becoming a global leader in promoting excellence and ethical practice.
Engr. Costales also reiterated the steps to becoming a member, including registration through myiecep.net, submission of documents, payment of fees, and attendance in the orientation. Membership grades—ranging from Honorary to Affiliate—were also presented, along with corresponding fees.

Participants were given the opportunity to introduce themselves and express their motivations for joining the organization. Among the attendees were Cyrus Esbra, committed to upskilling and improving his learning capacity; Joshua Tongol, driven to expand his knowledge base; Ariel Materiano, who participated in support of his ETEEAP application; John Paulo Laruscain, aspiring to achieve PECE certification; Loreto Andrada Jr., aiming to become a licensed Electronics Professional; and Gilbert Sagun, who joined with the goal of enhancing his professional skills.

The Board of Trustees members—Engr. Bitoon, Engr. Cano, Engr. Villanueva, Engr. Calayag, and Mr. Oberio—together with former governors Engr. Espinosa, Engr. Landicho, Engr. Mauna, and Engr. Corpuz, also took the stage to share their professional journeys and their meaningful experiences within IECEP KSA‑ERC, offering valuable inspiration and motivation to the new batch of members.

An open forum followed, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions, share insights, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
The session concluded with thoughtful and inspiring closing remarks from Engr. Jonas Calayag, VG for External, who emphasized the importance of continuous engagement, collective responsibility, and sustained partnership in advancing the organization’s initiatives. His message underscored the value of unity and proactive participation as the community moves forward with renewed purpose.
